In an effort to encourage ever-higher standards of teaching excellence, I hereby promise to uphold the following pledges.
I will:- Have my students rate my performance at the end of every semester and report those ratings to the Executive Director of the Acton Foundation.
- Keep my ratings in the top 25% of the faculty in my particular school (Business, engineering, etc). If my personal ratings do not remain in the top 25%, I understand that the Acton Foundation has the right to remove their curriculum from my university.
- Submit my ratings to Acton Foundation within two weeks of the close of the semester.
- Teach primarily by the case method
- Have student participation count for a large portion of their final grade (usually 60%, but not less than 40 %).
- Pay the Acton Foundation $1.00 per year for the use of their curriculum.
- Submit any Master Teacher Files that I have created to the Acton Foundation by the end of the semester/quarter for archiving purposes.
- Remain in close contact with the Acton Foundation's Executive Director, contacting him/her at least once a month.
