Foundation for Entrepreneurial Excellence Introduces Course on People Management
08/01/2004

Austin, Texas (August, 2004) – For the last year, the Foundation for Entrepreneurial Excellence (FEE) has been developing People Management, a comprehensive course on leadership. The course will be introduced at the Acton School of Business in Austin, Texas.

“Skillful leadership is absolutely critical to the success of any enterprise. Yet practical leadership skills are not taught in most MBA programs” says Georgia Spaeth, the Executive Director for the Acton School of Business. “The inclusion of this course at the Acton MBA is an essential component of our entrepreneurship education.”

Master Teacher and serial entrepreneur Ed Perry will be the first to introduce the People Management course. “The People class puts students in the hot seat confronting and solving real day-to-day leadership problems,” he said. Through constant role-play and feedback, students learn how to deliver their message to employees, investors, customers, suppliers, union reps, and members of the press.

Students learn how to build the people systems in an entrepreneurial company; specifically, they learn how to attract, select, and lead the right people. Perry adds, “It’s an incredible experience to motivate people toward a common objective. I am thrilled to help my students become world class leaders.”
