Steven Tomlinson Named Director of Curriculum Development
05/01/2004

Austin, Texas (May, 2004) – The Foundation for Entrepreneurial Excellence (FEE) has named entrepreneurship teacher Steven Tomlinson as its Director of Curriculum Development.

Formerly a top-ranked economics and finance professor in the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas, Tomlinson is consistently ranked as one of the highest rated teachers at the Acton School of Business. “Steven is a masterful teacher, communicator, and thinker,” said Georgia Spaeth, Executive Director for the Acton School of Business.

But it is also his exploits away from the classroom that provide for the well-rounded background necessary for the position at FEE. Tomlinson is an adjunct professor of pastoral ministry at the Theological Seminary of the Southwest in Austin, where he teaches an economics seminar for divinity students and a popular elective, Money as Metaphor, that explores the spirituality of economic life. Tomlinson is also an accomplished theatre artist.

“I love helping people imagine inspiring work that combines their talents, passions, and concerns,” said Tomlinson. “I also love helping students learn skills and tools that will help them get where they aspire to go. When FEE offered me the opportunity to develop and teach a course called ‘Life of Meaning,’ for example, I was sold.”
